Water is a monopoly on an essential resource and it once generated all the income necessary to maintain and update the system. Instead, for more than three decades, the profits from our rising bills have gone into the pockets of venture capitalists.

Here we use pattern semantics; the default in Ostrich since they are also constraints as opposed to searches. The regex is assumed to match the entire string. This means that we are using stronger semantics than what a typical backend would have applied for the same regex.
